Reportedly, the production aircraft Tejas MK-1A is expected to take flight today
Reliable sources from Bangalore have confirmed that preparations are underway for the inaugural flight of the TEJAS MK-1A at HAL Airport. The advanced TEJAS fighter (LA5033) is currently undergoing final checks ahead of its scheduled first flight, set between 11-11.30 a.m. today.
The aircraft will roll out from HAL’s Aircraft Division hangars, a renowned hub with a rich aviation history. Various teams from ADA, HAL, NAL, DRDO, and CEMILCA are collaborating on this significant milestone for what promises to be an inspiring debut flight, according to esteemed defense journalist Ananthakrishnan M on TarMak.
It’s worth mentioning that the TEJAS MK-1A production aircraft has successfully completed Low-Speed Taxi Trials (LSTT) and High-Speed Taxi Trials (HSTT). The flight will be piloted by the esteemed Group Captain K K Venugopal (Retd).
Pending any unforeseen issues and with the approval of certifying agencies, LA5033 is poised to take to the skies for its maiden flight today.
